Exceptional events are worth your time – I expect an experience when I attend a concert by the St. Olaf Choir. Whether you are a singer or purely a music consumer attending a St. Olaf concert is a memorable event. The 2009 (winter) tour is under way so find a location near you and get your tickets! Note that the choir visits different areas of the US during each touring season so the next visit to your area may be a few years away – the southeast is blessed this year. February 2009 tour Locations include:
- Nashville TN
- Orlando, FL
- Miami, FL
- Knoxville, TN
- Huntsville, AL
- Atlanta, GA
- Savannah, GA
- Vero Beach, FL
- St. Petersburg, FL
- Naples, FL
- Jacksonville, FL
- Athens, GA
- Greenville, SC
- Columbia Heights, MN
- Northfield, MN
Make sure to take the time to read the program notes (and remember Body, Mind, Spirit, Voice) – the dedication required for membership in the St. Olaf Choir exemplifies what we all should pursue (many, many companies would be greatly served by observing and understanding the philosophies and environment that surround this outstanding Choir and College.)
NOTE – the music below is typically for an advanced choir – with a little research simpler arrangements or other voicings may be located. While I enjoyed the entire concert experience a few works from the 2009 tour stand out:
